Links, anchors & content quality

How to brief for links that last, what is realistic to expect, and what publishers will refuse.

Anchor text that looks natural

Mix your anchors. A profile where every link uses the same exact keyword looks manipulated to search engines.

  • Brand: “HIKALINK”
  • Naked URL: “hika.hk”
  • Partial match: “marketplace for media links”
  • Generic: “read more”, “this guide”
  • Exact match: use sparingly and only where it reads naturally

Choose the right target page

  • Send links to a page that deserves them: useful content, a clear offer.
  • Don't put every link on the homepage: spread them across category and content pages.
  • Make sure the target page loads fast, is indexable and returns a 200 status.

Dofollow, nofollow and “sponsored” labels

Each listing tells you whether the link is dofollow and whether the article is labelled sponsored. Both matter:

  • A dofollow link can pass authority; a nofollow or sponsored one mostly brings visibility and brand signals.
  • Search engines ask for paid links to be marked. A clearly labelled placement on a strong, relevant media is a legitimate way to gain visibility, and it also helps your brand get cited in AI answers (GEO).

What to realistically expect

  • HIKALINK guarantees the delivery of the placement you ordered, not a ranking, a traffic level or an indexation date.
  • Search engines can take days or weeks to crawl and weigh a new link.
  • Results come from a mix: relevant sites, varied anchors, good target pages and time. Plan several placements, not one.

What publishers won't publish

Each publisher decides what fits their audience. Expect refusals for illegal products, adult content, misleading claims, and, on many sites, gambling, crypto promotion, health claims or payday-style loans. Check the listing's "Also accepting" section before ordering (or filter on it in the marketplace) and mention your industry in the briefing.
